Our Main Activities
Agriculture is the foundation stone of ENL and it remains, to this date, an important pillar for the group. The cluster is managed by ENL Agribusiness which currently cultivates sugar cane on approximately 12,000 acres of land, mainly from the estates of Savannah and Mon Désert Alma. Chicken, deer and cattle as well a wide variety of flowers, ornamental plants and food crops also comprise the production mix.
In recent years, both estates have undergone an in-depth reorganisation of their structures with a view to achieve sustainable profitability. The size of the work force has been rationalised and significant investments have gone into land preparation to facilitate mechanised operations in fields.
In parallel, ENL Agribusiness has been systematically exploring new niche markets in a bid to broaden its activity base. Resources from Agrex, a subsidiary specialised in the exports of fresh cut flowers and agricultural products, have been mobilised to strengthen the sales and marketing muscle of ENL Agribusiness both on the local and exports markets.
esp landscapers is a direct outcome of the diversification strategy adopted by ENL Agribusiness. Through this subsidiary, the cluster offers a complete range of turn-key landscaping solutions to individuals, corporate clients as well as to the hospitality industry.
ENL Agribusiness has also put its immense experience, know-how and logistics to the service of the planter community. Services offered include management and implementation of field de-rocking and regrouping schemes geared at enabling planters to benefit from economies of scale.
ENL is fully committed to the safe custody of lands under its supervision and agriculture and property development are the preferred means to optimise financial yields of the group's land assets. As such, ENL Agribusiness works in close collaboration with ENL Property to ensure that land is used in a sustainable and environment friendly manner. |
