| Corporate Social Responsibility |

Corporate Social Responsibility is an inherent part of ENL's values.
The ENL group has always assumed its role towards society through the sponsorship of charitable institutions and not for profit organisations.
The ENL Foundation reaffirms its commitment to corporate citizenship. 2% of the Group’s annual profits are allocated to finance the ENL Foundation’s activities.
The ENL Foundation has earmarked a series of social and environmental projects during the upcoming financial year.
These initiatives are to be implemented in close partnership with existing NGO’s and ENL group companies.
Two main areas of focus are:
1. Support and promotion of the youth in regions where ENL companies are located (namely Pailles, Alma, St Pierre/Moka and L’Escalier).
- The Alma Community Development Project for the youth at Cité Alma.
- An Atelier de Musique for the young at Cité Ste Catherine in St Pierre.
- Learning Centre in Pailles.
- IT centre for the youth at L’Escalier and La Sourdine.
- La Sourdine Community Development Project.
2. Contribution to environmental preservation programmes supporting the national "Maurice Ile Durable" initiative.
Through an active support and involvement in environmental projects at regional level, ENL is leading the “Moka” Branding project which entails the embellishment of the Moka roadsides; standardization of all signage to improve safety; an active contribution to the Lycée des Mascareignes environmental programme; Waste to Wealth (Tri de déchet) education and awareness programmes.
In addition, ENL assists ENL Property with the implementation of its social development plans. For the La Balise Marina IRS Development project in Black River, some Rs 24 million will be made available to finance the social and economic integration of the local community.
The main areas of intervention are: education support for children, training for the unemployed, support to SME, women empowerment, fight against social ills like prostitution and substance abuse, support to disabled persons, sports and leisure and protection of the environment. La Balise Marina IRS Project expects to create about 1500 jobs during the construction phase and some 350 direct jobs once in operation. About Rs 10 million have been allocated to finance the training of human resources for jobs that are specific to the operation of a marina.
