ENL grows and manages a portfolio of more than 120 brands

Hector Espitalier-Noël

CEO, ENL Group

Hector Espitalier-Noël has served as head of ENL Group for nearly three decades. Under his leadership, the family business has grown into a modern, broad-based and dynamic enterprise, ranking among the Top 10 in the country in terms of assets, turnover and profits.

In addition to several other board positions, Hector chairs the ENL Foundation, created in 2009 to further the Group’s philosophy for inclusive growth by empowering local communities to combat poverty. He also fronted the creation of a business incubator and a venture capital fund as vehicles for growing the country’s next generation of entrepreneurs and scouting out innovative investment opportunities for ENL.

Hector is a passionate advocate for the opening up of Mauritius to foreign talent, capital and purchasing power. He firmly believes that this will enable the country to achieve a step change towards becoming a service-centre of international calibre.

He is also a staunch supporter of the government-private sector partnership which, he believes, guarantees our country’s lasting economic success. He has served this partnership in different capacities within various private sector bodies, especially in the sugar sector.

Hector graduated as a professional accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1981. He has worked for the accountancy firms, Coopers and Lybrand in London and De Chazal du Mée in Mauritius prior to taking the reins of ENL in his hands. He is married and the father of three children.
