How ENL Foundation’s Aprann 2.0 programme empowers beneficiaries through mentorship

Starting a new job is a significant milestone. For individuals entering the workforce — especially those with limited exposure to professional environments — mentorship can be a key driver of confidence, adaptability, and long-term success. This is exactly what ENL Foundation’s Aprann 2.0 programme provides, an opportunity for the participants to thrive with the help of experienced mentors empowering them as they begin their professional journey.

Aprann 2.0 is an initiative launched by ENL Foundation in 2023, with the support of Oficea, an ENL subsidiary, to promote employability among vulnerable communities. The programme offers a holistic approach to personal and professional growth, including life skills development, career coaching, internship, job placement, and mentorship.

The mentorship component is particularly impactful during the final phase, where participants undergo internships or job placements. Mentors, drawn from ENL Group and Oficea’s network of professionals, provide consistent guidance throughout this critical transition. Aurelie Augustin, Project Officer and counsellor at ENL Foundation, explains:

Mentors are there to answer questions, offer professional advice, and guide their mentees as they settle into their new roles. This approach ensures that the beneficiaries feel welcomed and supported, allowing them to quickly integrate into the company culture. We also plan to introduce the mentorship programme for beneficiaries looking to launch their own business, with successful entrepreneurs guiding them along the way.

Since the launch of Aprann 2.0, over 70 beneficiaries have successfully found employment, with 10 of them have found a job within ENL Group and Oficea’s tenants, each being accompanied by a mentor for the first six months.

Jonaelle Grégoire has been with Tizoli, one of Oficea’s tenants in the beauty and wellness sector, since 2024. She shares her experience of having a mentor at the beginning of her job:

My mentor Christelle has given me the confidence I needed to start my career. She has been there since my first day to guide and support me, especially with our clients. We get along very well, and by sharing her knowledge, she has helped me grow professionally. Her feedback has been invaluable, and her encouragement has pushed me to step out of my comfort zone. Honestly, having a mentor is essential.

Beyond the mentorship, Aprann 2.0 also invites ENL employees from different fields to lead sessions where they share their expertise in subjects such as job interviews, online job search, CV writing, workplace ethics amongst others. To date, more than 20 ENL employees, including Oficea’s tenants, have volunteered their time and expertise. These interactive sessions offer beneficiaries a real-world understanding of today’s job market and create bridges between different industries and career paths.

Looking ahead

The current cohort includes 100 beneficiaries currently enrolled and on track to complete the programme and step confidently into the world of work. Through mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and continuous support, ENL Foundation is helping to shape the future of its participants.
